Show us your favorite flower.

Nothing prettier in my mind than roses and lace. It makes me feel lost in another time, where life was much softer and the detail is so much more intricate.

Audio: Show us your favorite movie soundtrack.
Submitted by miyagawa.
This Vox Hunt is easy. The Chicago soundtrack became my favorite a few years ago when I saw my niece's dance recital. Some of the girls did a jazz dance to "The Cell Block Tango". After I finished being shocked that these little girls were dancing to a song that talked about how they killed thier make believe husbands but it was OK because the poor guy "had it coming", I decided that I loved it and probably should have written the song! If you've never heard it before and you have a sense of humor, you should definitely click onto the song and listen to it!
The girls (including and ESPECIALLY my niece) and I started a tradition where we always bring the Chicago soundtrack on vacation with us. Late at night, we'll go out and serenade our resort. We don't charge the resort guests a thing for the honor of hearing our loud voices belting out "All That Jazz" and "He Had it Coming"! Pretty generous of us, I know. lol I'm sure we've made a few fellow vactioners upset at having to wake up in the middle of the night but we've had so much fun doing it that we can't be truly sorry! hehehe It's become my favorite vacation memory and probably my favorite memory of my niece.
Show us a night out on the town.

This question was submitted by my cousin Krista so in honor of her I will present to you one of my VERY few nights out on the town...
Ben surprised me with a night out this weekend! He made reservations at Bissell Mansion for their Dinner Theatre. I've never been to a dinner theatre and have always wanted to go so this was a great surprise! The play was based on GONE WITH THE WIND, a parady that they named "Go with the Wind" (I'm a big Gone With The Wind fan so I thought this was a little sacreligious! lol).
The night started and ended funny, almost surreal! This historical mansion was located in the ghetto part of town. The surrounding houses had windows that had been obviously shot out. Some were boarded up with plywood, some not. Thank GOD there was a security guard that the mansion paid to watch our cars! I was a little afraid.
We were ushered into a sitting room for appetizers and drinks. The staff filled us in on our "roles" in the play. I had none, Thank God! Ben, being the "showcaser" that he is, probably called ahead to request a part! He would play the part of Gentleman Jack (how fitting, being the southern schmoozer that he is! lol). As soon as we sat down, a family walked into the sitting room dressed in something that could have ONLY been worn by the actors, or so I thought! *see below*
Meanwhile, I have a drink (cosmopolitan) which I rarely ever do SOOOOO I got REALLY talkative to almost anyone who would listen. And this is why Ben can't take me anywhere... After drinks, we were ushered into a room where we would eat and see the play. We found out that we would be sitting with this family who I was sure had a leading role in the play do to their ridiculous costumes! Feeling extra friendly, I decided to talk to these people and their son/daughter? The sex of their child was not determined until I stuck my foot in my mouth. *see below*
First I said what a pretty little girl they had! Very thoughtful of me except that the weird mother (in costume) firmly let me know that her daughter was, in fact, her SON! This little boy/girl had a LOUD plaid shirt on with some kind of badge that I was sure meant that he was the "sheriff" in the show. Soooo.... to my husbands horror and amazement, I said LOUDLY to these people "You know I was WONDERING if you were actors in this play or if you ALWAYS dressed like this"! At this point I was waiting for the knowing laughter that I was so sure was coming (as if we shared an inside joke about their ridiculous costumes). Well, the laughter never came! Why, you ask yourselves? The kind ridiculous lady told me with a very HURT look on her face that they were not actors and these were their real clothes. I'm getting sick at myself just repeating this story! I looked at Ben to save me and he was like - looking around the beautiful decor (which he was NOT interested in, really) and acting like he didn't hear his idiot wife! I had to think quick so I told the little boy (and loud enough for his mother to hear me) that I was sure he had the leading role because of that "really cool" badge he had on! SAVE!!!!! The mother lightened up and the little boy/girl smiled and laughed then, informing me that they went on vacation and this was a souvineir they bought at the hotel shop. This did NOT explain the clothes they had on. I thought maybe her outfit could have been from the "Red Hat Society" but I discovered she wasn't much older than me. She just wanted her son and her to get "all gussied up" for their big night out on the town! They came all the way from Kansas City (which is about 4-5 hours from here) for this big event, why not dress for the occassion? Gotta watch those KC people (just kidding - my cousins live there also). In my defense, I NEVER do or say things like this. I'm always so ultra careful about not embarrassing anybody (this is big mouth Ben's job). Guess the Cosmopolitan just did the talking for me!

This is a picture of my Mom and Dad's wedding. My mom was pregnant with me here and felt like she HAD to marry my Dad. Her parents were Catholic (very strict) and this embarrassment had never happened in their family before. So here I am in my earliest photo! Just look at the happiness on my parents faces! lol
Note for all of my realitives on VOX: left to right Grandma Boyer, Grandpa Boyer, Chee-Chee, Mom, Priest, Dad, Bob Coleman, Grandpa Smith, Grandma Smith (check out her bee-hive hat!).

Toni Braxton's voice sends chills up my spine on this song! Even my kids like it so I guess it's a universal thing:)
AND>>>>> I wouldn't be me without wanting to sound like Pat Benatar! If you asked me I DO sound like her but ask someone else and they might tell you something different!
Book: Show us the latest book you bought, borrowed or received.
I know, I'm a little behind cause this book has been out for such a long time! My friend Beth, just brought this over yesterday and I'm already half done (I'm only able to read in the bath tub so it would probably be already read if I'd had more time!).
For those of you who haven't seen the movie or read the book, it's about a professor who's dying and instead of giving in to the depression, he decides to teach people about the death process. It's about how he actually lives so much of his life right before he dies. Sounds depressing but he puts dignity into death. I can't wait to learn the rest of what Morrie teaches! It's a true story too which even makes it that much more interesting for me:)
Audio: Share a song that reminds you of a current or past relationship.
This was Mine and Ben's wedding song. We'll be married 4 years February 20. It still gives me goose bumps...
Love Is All By: Marc Anthony

I love you honey and thanks for putting up with me!

NOBODY sings PAIN like Janis! "Busted flat in Baton Rouge - Waiten for the Train - Feelin nearly faded as my jeans...." and my favorite quote "Freedom's just another word for nothin left to lose"
I can ALMOST sing this as good as she can cause I've been there baby! lol
Andy Gibb was my VERY first love. I was in 6th grade and I had my walls covered with posters and would imagine the day Andy and I would run off into the sunset and get married! lol (in case you were wondering, it never happened).
When I became a teenager, I ditched Andy for Jon! lol Pretty sure I'd leave my husband for him still (no really!!!! I'm just kidding Ben:)
Pretty faithful to The Red Rocker too though... Must be all that hair.... Hmmmmm, so many decisions!
