Pasta Con Broccoli
A little road blocked as far as posts go lately. I'm getting bored with only posting what's been going on in my family and I kind of feel like if I posted any "deeper" thoughts, it might open up a floodgate from hell! lol So I'm going to have to give you another recipe. This one is delicious AND easy. It was a good way to introduce vegetables into our usual diet of all carbs! lol

Pasta Con Broccoli
12 oz package of noodles (usually shell but I used penne pasta)
1 16 oz package of frozen broccoli, cooked and drained (I used the California blend with carrots because that's what I had)
1 stick butter
1 pt half and half (you can use heavy cream for an even creamier taste)
garlic, salt and pepper, red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to taste
1 (8-oz) grated Parmesan cheese
4 oz tomato sauce
In a large pan add butter, half and half, tomato sauce and cheese to hot, drained pasta and broccoli. Stir and simmer until thickened.
*For a complete meal, you can add cooked, diced chicken breast or sauteed fresh mushrooms.
*I had red pepper flakes on hand. Usually, I add cayenne pepper. Just a pich for a little added zing!
I made a double batch the other night that we're still eating (mainly me!). The kids loved it and they don't like vegetables. The flavor is fantastic and overcomes the vegetables for the kids. lol
Cheese garlic bread on the side, makes this irresistable!
Enjoy!

This one is so easy. You should try it.
Our weather is pretty warm. Maybe 40's? We're not supposed to get more snow til tommorow. Spring's got to happen here SOON! I mean, I love snow but I'd like it around Christmas time. NOT March!
That's funny about the husband. Usually Danielle is the same way. If I gave her a choice, she wouldn't choose to eat it because of the broccoli. Unfortunately for her, there are no choices given! lol
You'll have to let me know what you do with your recipe. I'm always curious what other "normal" people do with similar recipes! lol Actually, I didn't send you this post because I knew you'd probably already have the easy cream sauce down pat. I couldn't even make cream sauce until I was in my late 20's!
This looks good. I love this kind of food, but the guys around here don,t like it much. I may have to make me some of it .
It is snowing here again!!!! After that melted the other day it was a horrible mess.So I really hate to see what it will be after today. I am ready for the warm weather to come back.lol.
Yay another episode of the gourmet girl !!!!!
Seriously one of these days im going to cook some of these receipes you blog. Maybe i could do it for my lady friend :)
Looks yummy and im sure it was and is :)
I'm ready for warm weather too! I wanted it to snow at Christmas but we got nothing! Now that it's March, the daffodils should be in blume!
I was watching the news tonight and they said that northeast Texas will get (or did get) up to 6 inches! They were talking about some places having to close down the roads there! This is a really strange weather year.
If you decide to make this, they boys would probably like it if you didn't put the vegetables in the recipe. The sauce is TO DIE FOR! If they don't like it, you could eat them for leftovers for a few days or bring some to GG.
LMAO! I just read the comment I posted back to you and it looks like I was saying if the boys don't like it that you could eat them (the boys) for leftovers! I meant you could eat the pasta! lol
You really SHOULD try to do this for your lady friend! It's SO easy! Not to mention delicious.
Quite a few people from my Vox neighborhood have tried several of my recipes and they've loved them. I think if YOU tried to make some of these, you'd like tham too:-)
First of all... Welcome to my hood! lol It's good to have you here:-)
I love broccoli too. This is so simple to make, you should try it.
Oh im not doubting that the food is yummy. Its just im concerned about my cooking skills lol, One day i might surprise you :)
LMAO. I didn't even think about it until I read your second comment and then it did sound like you wanted me to have the boys as leftovers.
We didn't even get a inch of snow. It was to warm to stick around (as usual). It has been a weird year so far. It is usually like spring here at this time, instead we are now getting our winter.
I will definately make me some, I love pasta dishes. I am going to call you this week and get your lasagne recipe. It was so DELICIOUS!!
